Housing & Infrastructure Development

CHF's infrastructure development activities work across sectors to build demand-driven, safe, and sustainable infrastructure that is closely integrated with broader development objectives, such as enhancing economic development, accelerating the recovery process for post-disaster communities, and promoting healthy communities. CHF's proven community-based methodology and effective construction management capacity allows us to complete a broad range of projects (from village-based water supply systems to multi-million dollar facilities) on time, on budget, and in an environmentally-safe manner.

Providing high quality oversight at all levels, from architecture and design, to tendering and contractor management, to handover and cost recovery models, CHF’s activities include:

  • building transitional shelters and permanent homes in post-disaster settings;
  • constructing public markets that are designed to improve community health;
  • installing fully-integrated water supply and sanitation systems; and
  • constructing access roads, vocational training centers, workshops, schools, bridges, and clinics.
